‘Tis The Season to Drink With Purpose
The Holiday Season is a time of reflection, warm fuzzy feels, and in the words of Jim Carey in the timeless classic The Grinch, “presents, I suppose!” As the Grinch found out, the holiday season is less about presents, and more about the presence of those you care about most. But what if I told you that the PRESENTS you give this year, could also give PRESENCE?
That’s right, the Inception of gift giving. Whenever you purchase a variety pack of our Good Dogg Premium Hard Seltzer, you are helping us provide service dogs to children diagnosed with rare diseases. Whenever you crack open that Black Cherry Good Dogg and enjoy one of the best tasting hard seltzer flavors on the market, you are helping us Leverage the Beverage™! Like swag? Sporting your Good Dogg Vintage Hoodie or that collar for your rescue also does good!
As this year comes to a close, we reflect on some of the most joy filled moments that YOU helped Good Dogg Beverage encounter this year as you helped propel the Leverage the Beverage™ program to new heights. To bring on the warm fuzzy feels of the season, check out some of the awesome moments from 2022 with Good Dogg!
Asher
On May 11, Asher Waldrop of Mechanicsville, Virginia was named the inaugural recipient of the CDK Good Dogg scholarship. Thanks to the scholarship, 7-year-old Asher was able to finish raising money for her match to Gatsby, a trained medical alert and response service dog. Gatsby supports Asher's mobility, alerts to impending nausea and pain spikes, provides pain-relieving pressure, and retrieves medications and assistance in case of an emergency.
Asher has a suspected mitochondrial disease, but with Gatsby by her side, she's able to stay active and participate in activities she loves.
As the original purpose-driven brand in the hard seltzer market, we are inspired by stories like Asher’s. We believe that it is not only important for brands to give back all year round, but drives everything we do.
Romeo
Found malnourished and abandoned on the side of the road, 4-year-old pitbull Romeo was taken to our partner H.A.L.O. in July of 2021. He was covered in fleas, and could not use his back right leg due to a severe injury. Romeo also had significant heartworms, but he never let all this stop his tail from wagging.
With the help of Good Dogg donations, Romeo was able to receive a life-saving surgery thanks to the efforts of H.A.L.O. and a talented veterinary staff.
After months of healing, Romeo was adopted in 2022 and is now at his forever home with a family that adores him. He is currently healthy, happy, and loved, demonstrating that even the most challenging rescue situations can have amazing outcomes.
It's stories like Romeo's that inspire us as a purpose-driven brand. We believe every dog is a good dog, and every dog deserves a chance at a happy life!
Teddy
The amount of money that it costs to train service dogs can be extremely overwhelming. Often the public only sees a dog out at the store or maybe at an event, but they never get a glimpse into what it takes to train and provide high quality service dogs for kids that need them. This is where Teddy comes in!
Teddy is a serviced dog in training at Diggity Dogs Service Dogs, a partner in the Leverage the Beverage™ Program. Our goal through this partnership, and specifically Teddy, is to increase the availability of highly trained qualified service dogs by alleviating the financial burden on training organizations like Diggity Dogs.
Each month Good Dogg covers the cost of Teddy’s training, and through its partnership provides a social media experience so people can follow Teddy’s journey! Check out his journey here.
We are proud to be partnering with an organization that shares our values, and we are excited to see the difference that Teddy and so many other service dogs will make in the lives of children in need.
KIF1A
On February 28th, Rare Disease Day ®, 70 patients with KIF1A Associated Neurological Disorder (KAND), received Good Dogg care packages loaded with stuffed animals, frisbees, and other goods. The distinctive feature of this package was the plush dog named Teddy, after the motivational canine whose life serves as the foundation of the Good Dogg Beverage Company.
Sending these boxes was a simple act intended to spread happiness, but Good Dogg's commitment to supporting the families of children with rare diseases extends beyond Rare Disease Day. We are committed to ensuring families in the KIF1A community have better access to service dogs.
That’s why a portion of sales from every case of Good Dogg Premium Hard Seltzer is donated to organizations such as KIF1A to help spread awareness, and to fund research to find cures. Good Dogg admires the important work of organizations like KIF1A, and we love showing our support for this community!
Spread The Cheer All Year
While the holidays make for a great time to spread joy, it’s important to remember that giving doesn’t have to stop at the end of December. Our mission is to make sure every child with rare diseases has access to resources that can help them live the best life possible. Here at Good Dogg we make it possible to give back with the great tasting hard seltzer flavors and premium swag! I think we can all cheers to that this Holiday Season!
